Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using The Tack Room (“the Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

About The Tack Room

The Tack Room is a decentralised, peer-to-peer marketplace where members can list and browse pre-loved equestrian gear — saddles and tack, riding wear, horse boots, and accessories — as well as equestrian services such as lessons, training, farrier, veterinary, transport, grooming, and livery.

The Platform acts solely as a venue for members to find and communicate with one another. We are not a party to any transaction, do not process payments, and do not provide buyer or seller protection.

Your Account

• You must provide accurate and complete information when registering.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• You may only create one account and may not transfer it to another person.

Listings and Content

You are solely responsible for the listings, service listings, images, messages, and any other content you post. By posting content, you confirm that you have the right to do so and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party.

• Listings must be for items or services you are genuinely offering for sale or hire.
• Descriptions, condition, and pricing must be accurate and not misleading.
• Listings may not promote counterfeit, stolen, illegal, or harmful goods.
• You may not post content that is abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise unlawful.

Transactions and Responsibilities

All transactions take place directly between members, entirely off the Platform. The Tack Room does not facilitate, guarantee, or take responsibility for payment, delivery, collection, or the quality of items or services exchanged.

• You are responsible for agreeing on payment, shipping, and collection methods with the other party.
• You conduct your own due diligence on the other member and the item or service before transacting.
• The Platform does not provide escrow, refunds, or dispute resolution.
• Any disputes must be resolved directly between the parties involved.

Messaging and Conduct

Our messaging tools are provided so members can communicate about listings and coordinate transactions. You agree to use them respectfully and lawfully, and not to use them to send spam, scams, or off-platform payment requests intended to defraud others.

Reporting and Moderation

We provide tools to report listings, services, or members that you believe violate these Terms. We may, at our discretion, review, remove, or restrict content or accounts that breach these Terms, and we may suspend or terminate accounts engaged in serious or repeated violations.

Fees

The Tack Room is currently free to use. We do not charge platform fees on listings or transactions. We reserve the right to introduce fees in the future, with advance notice to members.

Intellectual Property

The Platform, its name, logo, and design are owned by The Tack Room. You retain ownership of the content you post, but grant us a licence to display it on the Platform for the purpose of operating the marketplace.

Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided on an “as is” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Tack Room is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, or from any transaction, communication, or interaction with another member.

Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform if you breach these Terms or if we believe your activity is harmful to the Platform or its members.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, provide notice through the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
